Stone Delivery and Placement
Stone delivered to your site, unloaded the way your site allows and, where you need it, set exactly where it goes.
Stone is sold by weight and it arrives heavy. Getting it from the truck to the right spot is half the job, and it is where most delivery problems start.
Stone usually travels on flatdeck trucks. Aggregate comes by dump truck and is tipped. The delivered price for your address is shown on the order form before you submit.
What We Provide
- Delivery of armour stone, flagstone, steps and specialty stone by flatdeck truck
- Aggregate by the tonne, tipped from a dump truck sized to your access
- Unloading by your own equipment, by a carrier-mounted forklift, or with a machine we arrange
- Placement of stone where it is going, when you need it set rather than dropped
Site and Access
- Road and driveway access for a loaded truck, with room to turn
- Overhead wires, low branches and soft ground at the unloading point
- Equipment on site rated for the heaviest piece being delivered
- For aggregate: whether a full-size, smaller or small dump truck can get in and tip
Base and Drainage
If the stone cannot be unloaded when the truck arrives, full freight still applies. Tell us what equipment is on site and how heavy the heaviest piece is, and we plan the unloading before the truck is booked.
Equipment
Flatdeck trucks for stone and dump trucks for aggregate. At the site, unloading needs equipment rated for the heaviest piece: a skid steer, an excavator or loader, a carrier-mounted forklift, or a machine we arrange.
What Drives the Price
Every job is quoted on site conditions, so no price is published here. These are the things that move it:
- Distance from the supply point to your address
- Weight and number of pieces, or tonnes of aggregate
- How the load is unloaded
- For aggregate: the truck your access allows and the number of loads
- Placement time, when stone is set rather than dropped
